Let’s Jam: Teedra Moses
The Lioness (Teedra Moses) has done it again. The beautiful chanteuse is a master of sensuality and the ArtBelles are always jammin’ to her tunes. If you LOVE R&B as much as I do, then you KNOW good music when you hear it! If you have never heard the name: Teedra Moses, then you are in for a treat (a VERY big treat). Isn’t her picture beautiful!? Come on in, let’s get the party started!
I have been listening to this chick since 2004 (her new single is here), and let me tell YOU, she is a force to be reckoned with. Her debut album, Complex Simplicity gets a steady rotation in my household–YES, she is that good! She literally stumbled into this career after breaking her leg at work as an assistant celebrity stylist to some of my favorites including: Will Smith, No Doubt and R. Kelly.
Not only is this talented New Orleans born beauty extremely determined and hardworking, but she writes and executive produces her music. Now, how many top-selling artists can you say have HONESTLY done the same? Y’all know some of these well-known artists pay to have this type of credit. Teedra is the first artist to truly open my eyes to Indie music—which is our goal here, ya know!
Her voice is amazing and I could go on and on about this creative artist. Why don’t you peek around her site, and see why I am a fan for life (go check out the artists she’s written for—impressive!). I have been sending the wish fairy numerous requests for Teedra to grace us here in Birmingham, let’s hope that she does.
Tell me what you think about this rare diamond of an artist and check out one of my favorite classic songs below. Be on the lookout for her new album, The Young Lioness, coming soon. To buy one of her MANY cd’s visit here. Also, enjoy her NEW video for R U 4 Real under “Caught Up!!”
Update: As of 5.17.11 Ms. Moses was grateful enough to add our post to her website! We love ya & will continue to support you because you ARE real music! The ArtBelles are forever grateful.
