Eats & Treats: Nancy’s Pizza

On a trip to Atlanta, I visited Nancy’s Pizza in the heart of Buckhead. Nancy’s is known for their Chicago style pizza and was voted as the best pizza restaurant in Chicago. The restaurant is decorated in red and has live music. A musician was sitting at the keys singing down home blues and old school music while I sat outside tapping my heels on the cement.

My partner in crime and I ordered wings and A Lot’ A Meat Pizza, and let me tell you–that pizza was so friggin good! You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words, but this one is worth a mouthful!

The pizza was DIVINE and made me want to sing a hymn! The crust wasn’t overcooked and was fluffy and chewy. You can tell that the dough is made fresh. It had the right amount of meat, a lovely heaping of fresh tomato sauce that made my tastebuds jump, and the cheese–oh don’t get me started. A belle had to keep ten napkins on standby since my hands were covered in pizza and wing sauce.

I like to call myself a sweet tea connoisseur, which means I am snobbish about my tea. Yes, a belle turns her brown nose up at terrible tea. I LOVED the sweet tea at Nancy’s! It had the right amount of sugar and was freshly brewed.

The wings were nothing to write home about. As a lover of wings, I found them to be a tad fatty. But the main course sure made up for it as I devoured 2 ooey gooey slices of pizza.

When I showed TamikaBelle the pictures, she was salivating. Talk about deliciously goodness! If you’re looking for a great Chicago style stuffed pizza, then you better head to Nancy’s! Your tummy will thank you.

  1. “The pizza was DIVINE and made me want to sing a hymn!” HAHA – you sound like me. When I spot a pair of heels I like or watch a movie I enjoyed . . I have been known to compare them to ice-cream (my guilty pleasure) and say I want to lick it. “That movie was so good, I just want to lick it.”
“Those heels look so good I just want to lick them.” (now that may or may not have actually happened . . hahahaha)

The pizza looks good. Too bad that is a no no for me. Not that I have stopped eating pizza but, I have been trying to stick to thin crust.

    1. Shanny and Sharon: I love to indulge in a good ole Chicago style pizza every now and again! Ladies, this one was good. Sharon, I always have a quote for something. A heel was so good you wanted to lick it? As a heel lover, I know how a good pair makes me feel. I understand about the thin crust–it's much healthier and tastes just as good. However, a belle cheats every blue moon and gets some good pizza with a thick crust 😉
