If I could sketch this good I would go outside and draw everywhere! And I mean everywhere. I am the supreme sketch artist in my head and often find myself doodling flowers on somethin’. I have always admired those who are talented enough to take a a piece of paper and create art with a pencil.

As we all know, beautiful pieces of fashion begin with a sketch, and we would like to share an extremely talented Canadian artist with you today by the name of Shannon (Empress) H.

Empress has a background in Interior Design and is extremely gifted. She’s a fashion-head that hits the streets of Toronto in a style that doesn’t comprehend the word: boundries! We hope you enjoy her work as much as we do. Read on for more details/pics.

Did I mention that Empress has a blog? Yep, it’s one of our favorites, too! TrueQueen.com focuses on everything from fashion to beauty to lifestyle to fab online shopping! We met this royal talent on Twitter and have enjoyed getting to know her through her writing. Now, all hail to the TrueQueen… we present the interview below. Enjoy!!!

• What/who inspires you? I’m inspired by everything around me. I’m constantly taking pictures of random household items, meals and landscape. I feel almost anything in everyday life is a photographic opportunity.

• How long have you been sketching and what’s your favorite thing to sketch? I’ve been sketching ever since I can remember. I stopped for a long time though and recently have started to pick it back up because I felt like my blog was missing that personal touch. I tend to sketch women in fashion illustrations or beauty angles the most. My mind [is] constantly bubbling with ideas [for] outfits; so it’s a great way for me to release that energy.

• Anything funny, interesting, or crazy to share? An interesting fact about me is that I’m obsessed with Rihanna. The girl can do no wrong in my mind; her style is always to the nines so I spend plenty of time blogging about her.

• What’s Canada like? I love Canada! It’s such a great place to live. There’s a very diverse community of people, especially in Toronto. The night life is amazing; [There are] plenty of great restaurants and clubs to hit. You’ll find me with my girls hitting up hot spots for Toronto’s annual Summerlicious events, so [look for] plenty of outfit posts coming soon.
