*Rubs the genie lamp* Have you ever had a sweet treat that made you want to shout like Little Richard in public? Okay, what about something so good that it made you want to jump out of your seat and throw a leg in the air like Michael Jackson?
Well, Shermika and I had some treats that made us want to do just that, but because we were in public we contained ourselves–for the moment at least. Recently, we had the chance to sit down with the busy creator/baker of The Cupcake Genie, an online store based in Atlanta, GA, that is in the business of granting sweet wishes. With over 37 flavors of cupcakes and 15 flavors of cake pops, these divine treats are worth trying!
This extremely generous and talented genie doesn’t come out of a lamp, but does create edible magic. Born and raised in the Virgin Islands, The Cupcake Genie’s love for baking began early on when she would bake, package and sell brownies to friends.
Wondering how The Cupcake Genie came up with the name? Everyone would request different flavors and she would always deliver–hence The Cupcake Genie was born.
Now, y’all know an ArtBelle doesn’t lie. These were the best cupcakes I have ever tried!!! Unlike your other favorite belle, I am not a fan of exuberantly sweet items, so these treats are perfect. The genie has excelled in the art of baking and it shows with each piece of edible art. She’s had her creations eaten by the likes of our very own Rickey Smiley and has worked with corporations–including Mercedes-Benz and Coca-Cola.
The Cupcake Genie decorates each treat by hand and packages them, too. If this isn’t a businesswoman then I don’t know who is! Shermika and I tried the Margarita (with real alcohol) and the Strawberry Shortcake flavors. These cupcakes are a sin!! They are moist, look and smell good and taste divine.
Though she’s busy baking anywhere from 200-300 regular sized and 300 mini cupcakes daily, The Cupcake Genie is having fun and doesn’t plan on slowing down just yet. She has created a custom order for Atlanta’s R&B writer/singer, Kandi Burruss‘ boutique.
Be sure to check out The Cupcake Genie’s plethora of photos on her facebook page. Also, don’t forget to follow her on Twitter to stay in the know. Let us know when you place your order…we are looking forward to our next taste real soon!
Much thanks to The Cupcake Genie for meeting with the ArtBelles. We appreciate your time, talent and art. Thank you for being as sweet as your lovely treats!!
